Obituary of Michael Victor Guadagno
Michael Victor Guadagno of Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 1 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point. Formerly of Bound Brook, NJ, he moved to Vineland and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1953. He attended Drexel University and then served honorably in the U.S. Army. Ever an entrepreneur, Mike joined his parents operating The Spot Pizzeria in Vineland along with the Second Look, an upscale women's clothing store. He and his family moved to Ocean City, New Jersey and operated Coach's Casino and MicDono's Restaurant on the Ocean City boardwalk He then became an owner of Wally's Cafe in North Wildwood and Maggie's Carolina Cafe in Atlantic City
For 35 years, Mike owned and operated the landmark Moores Inlet in North Wildwood. Not only a popular destination, but a frame of mind for generations of families. Moores lives on and on in the hearts and minds of those fortunate to join in the fun times, always feeling at home when entering it's doors, and enjoying Mike's ever- present magnetic smile, warm handshake and larger than life personality. He retired 5 years ago after selling the property and now on the site is a luxury condominium complex, The Pointe at Moores Inlet. Mike was very active in the City of North Wildwood, promoting events that enhanced the quality of life in North Wildwood and the surrounding communities. He was one of the original organizers of Capital Bank of New Jersey. This was AFTER he retired. His valiant attempt and extreme hard work in bringing minor league baseball to North Wildwood was met with great enthusiasm but never came to fruition. His generosity was boundless. His benevolence was unprecedented and endless. He was a proud conservative Republican. He loved his family and friends and truly enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was one in a million and will be sorely missed by all the lives he touched.
He is survived by wife of 50 years, Nancy (Williams) Guadagno, Ocean City, NJ; daughter & husband, Anita & Clyde Lince; grandson, Michael "Mikey" Lince; sister, Theresa Winslow; sister and husband, Marguerite & Ron Koons; brother-in-law, Charles Williams; nieces, nephews & cousins.
