Obituary of Ronald G. D'Ottavio

LIFELONG FARMER Ronald "Ronnie" D'Ottavio, 74, passed away in the comfort of his home on March 16, 2009. Born in Vineland to Callie and Regina (Sasdelli) D'Ottavio, he was a lifetime area resident. He farmed with his father and brother, Arthur, and later with his sons, Leon and Michael, on Maple Avenue, where the family farm is still enjoyed today. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Lucky 12 Gun Club and the Hungry Hunters Gun Club along with many of his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing and target shooting with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Landisville Produce Cooperative, Vineland Produce Auction, Jersey Fresh Association, and St. Padre Pio Parish of East Vineland. In his younger days he was a licensed polot and loved flying single engine airplanes. In 1996 he retired to enjoy his grandchildren and his 1934 Model A car, his favorite toy. His survivors include his wife Elaine (Consalo) of 44 years, two sons Leon and his wife Kim (Farina) of Buena and Michael and his wife Robin (Alminda) of Vineland, daughter Christine, and her husband Mark Crisafulli of Pittsgrove and six grandchildren, Angela, Erica, Francesca "Frankie", Nicholas "Nick", Anthony and Lee. Sister Doris Levari, sisters-in-law Philomena Guinta, Mildred Consalo, brothers-in-law Vincent Consalo, and his wife Hope, Augustus Consalo and his wife Dorothy. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronnie was predeceased by his parents Callie and Regina, brother Arthur and his wife Kay, brother-in-law Nick Levari, nephew Danny Levari, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Williams Sr. and Louise Consalo, brothers-in-law William Consalo Jr., Anthony Consalo and wife Barbara, Peter Guinta and nephews John Guinta, Michael Gruccio, Wiliam "Billy" and Thomas Consalo.
