Dear Gerry & Rick, I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I met Al at our birth's in Newcomb as my mother told me she and your mom were in the hopspital together ( I am 4 days older). I really meant Al in Little League and we became close friends. He always had a michevious smile and would try almost anything. We had a lot of good times together and I will remember him as the one that had the biggest pair of us all. It seems like yesterday when we were all kids and lived in a much better world than we do todayl.Again I am deeply saddened in losing a close childhood friend that I admired. Gerry, I guess I can tell you now I had a crush on you when we were young but I remember once you met Al no one else mattered. May the good times he gave us all be remembered. Deno Marino

I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. No one had a more lust for life than this gentle bear. I saw him after 15 years at Frank Zappariello's services and it was like I had never left New Jersey and we saw each other weekly. Al made friends for life. I am so glad he was my friend. He will be missed greatly.

Met Big Al with Harvey. I consider my self to be a lucky person to have enjoyed some of my best times with the captain. Even though it was a short time. Deepest respects go out to his wife.

Our fondest memory of Al was the "tour of the shore" (which he loved so much) whenever we would go out to dinner. He will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. May you all find comfort in your very special memories of him. Love, Maggie and Bill

Gerry, So sorry to see that Al passed away. I have a picture on my office wall of the 1957 State Champion Sheard Kernels with Al and me next to each other. We had played baseball together from Little League through high school. We both loved baseball and we both had a sense of humor that helped us a lot. I have fond memories of Al and you. God Bless! Chuck
