Obituary of Clorinda Michael Ambrose

Clorinda (Morello) Michael- Ambrose, age 99, passed away on October 15, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born and a lifelong resident of Vineland, the daughter of Giacomo and Anita (Cechetto) Morello. Clorinda was a parishioner and an active member of Sacred Heart Church and its PTA, a member of the Tabernacle Society, Catholic Daughters and the North Italy Ladies Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at Bishop McCarthy for 18 years and was instrumental in the founding of the Villa Rossello barbecue. She donated the baptismal font at Sacred Heart Church in memory of her first husband and former Vineland City Clerk, Dom Michael. Clorinda enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting, but her passion was playing pinochle and she was known to offer friendly advice if a wrong card was played. She was an avid Phillies and Notre Dame Football fan. She is survived by her daughters Corinne Baruffi (Buena), Patricia Simmerman (Vineland), Cathleen and husband Alfred Verderose (Vineland), sons Jack and wife Marlene Michael (Vineland) and Dom Michael (Novato, CA), brother John and wife Florence Morello (Ocean City), twenty-two grand children, fifty-two great -grandchildren and thirteen great- great grandchildren and her loving care-giver Anna. She was predeceased by her first husband, Dom Michael and second husband Phil Ambrose, daughter Joan Cline, brothers Ugo (Plug) and Louis Morello, sisters Mary Trucano, Esther Gruccio and Della Pettisani, sister-in-law Florence Morello, and great grandson Jeffrey Gross. Clorinda was a parishioner and an active member of Sacred Heart Church and its PTA, a member of the Tabernacle Society, Catholic Daughters and the North Italy Ladies Auxiliary. A funeral home visitation will be on Tuesday evening Oct 19, from 6pm to 9pm at the Rone Funeral Service 1110 E. Chestnut Ave. Vineland, NJ. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday morning Oct 20 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am at St. Isidore the Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd. Vineland. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am in St Isidore's Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service 1110 E.
